5 15-0136 Subject: Amending Ordinance Awarding Residential Recycling Contract With CWS
From: Oakland Public Works Department
Recommendation: Adopt An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 13274 C.M.S. To Approve Residential Recycling Services Contract With California Waste Solutions, Inc., Section 7.08.4 Special Unit Count Review And Adjustment, To Implement A Methodology To Adjust The Monthly Cost Per Household For Recycling Services
To All,
In regards to item five, on tonight’s agenda which seeks to amend the Ordinance awarding Residential Recycling Contract with CWS.
There is a recommendation to adopt an Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 13274 C.M.S. to approve, I OPPOSE this amendment and believe this is wrong with deep negative consequences with the City, Staff, and the Residents. I believe second-guessing the City Staff and their information should not become a means of reward in any contract.I strongly urge our leaders to vote NO, on tonight’s item 5…and send it to the Public Works Committee to investigate the data in question, FIRST.
And determine if the CWS site at 1820 10th Street complies with the property conditional use permit and the business conditions of approval? In addition, when was the last inspection to determine if they are in compliance?
I second everything in Marcus Johnson's comment below.
This is appalling that the City throws us to the dogs who are only interested in $$$$ and the city looks the other way!
