Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution Requesting The City Planning Commission To Consider Zoning Regulation Changes To The CN-1 Neighborhood Commercial CN-1 Zone To Allow The City To Deem A Use Permit To Be Abandoned If The Use Has Been Discontinued Or If The Business License Lapses For More Than One Year.
Dear President Reid and Council Members,
The Rockridge Community Planning Council (RCPC) strongly supports this resolution. RCPC had worked with community and business groups in the City's other CN-1 districts to address this issue over the past two years. RCPC greatly appreciates Vice Mayor Campbell Washington bringing this resolution forward to move this proposal forward to the Planning Commission. To RCPC's knowledge, no community or business group in any of the City's CN-1 districts has expressed opposition to this proposal, and most have expressed strong support. For this reason, RCPC supports having this proposal apply to all CN-1 areas in the City.
