Please approve residential parking permits on my street, North St. It has gotten incredibly difficult to find parking now that Safeway has remodeled and Alta Bates workers have figured out our street is the first free, all day parking they have. On a typical day, we see so many cars on the street who don't live here. Many of them are wearing uniforms and are headed to work. We also have people who dump their cars here for weeks at a time. I have owned our home for 14 years and have never seen this street used by so many cutting through or for free all-day parking. Please approve.
Please approve this parking permit law on North St between Colby and Dana St. We have had almost 2 years of employees park from Alta Bates hospital and now Safeway. It is the first street with all day parking from both the north and the east and our street gets so jammed packed everyday. It is very uncommon to find a place to park on the street we live on. On a given day 75% of the cars on the street are employees at these businesses or people leaving their cars for weeks. Today while trying to park in the last remaining spot on the street, I was verbally assaulted ( he also made a rude gesture) by a contractor who has been working on a house at the end of the street. I believe it's a safety issue at this point for the people and children and animals who live on this street. Please approve our street.
As a 14-year resident of North Street, I am writing in support of residential permit parking on North Street between Colby and Dana. Please approve the resolution.

I've been a resident of North St between Colby & Dana Streets for 28 years and I strongly support the approval of the resolution to establish permit parking as proposed on the agenda. The last few years parking has become so incredible difficult with the passing of the College Street Safeway expansion and the permit deal it made for all the adjoining streets. We not only now battle for a spot to park on our tiny block with the College St. commercial employees but an increasing number of Alta Bates scrubs and customers of BART whom fill our very limited street parking daily. Say nothing of people from adjoining streets leaving their second & third cars parked for multiple days. Please approve the resolution.
I strongly support the approval of the resolution to establish permit parking as proposed on the agenda. I am a 11 year resident of North Street between Colby and Dana streets. Over the last few years, since permit parking was granted to other areas of my community following the approval and remodel of the College Street Safeway, it has become increasingly difficult to park on North Street, one of the first non-permit parking streets adjacent to the permitted area. I watch people in scrubs park on North st and head north to Alta Bates; unload bikes and ride off; and walk off toward BART. North Street is being used to subsidize commercial parking for businesses and individuals who work and live outside of Rockridge and likely outside of Oakland. North St. should not be used as non-residential parking. This is a residential community and a street in which hundreds of elementary school children walk, bike and play during the school year. Please approve the resolution.
