The homeless numbers and resulting vermin and human waste is more than difficult. ADA and children are being warned to not walk on some sidewalks because of health issues. Human waste and needles going into the Bay is also critical to health and environment.
Oakland needs to move forward on this difficult issue. There is not enough shelters available. The longer people are living on the streets the more mental health challenges and drug problems arise. Homeless areas are now where drug distributors are centered.
