Please no vending at the lake. No amplified music. It's a bird sanctuary. I can literally feel the drumming through my floors. My peaceful life is threatened. I may have to move.

    *NO VENDING ON LAKESHORE*
Please listen to residents who cannot escape the constant noise and traffic caused by vending at out beautiful wildlife sanctuary. I have lived at the lake for 20 years and am a BBQ While Black supporter. Families can no longer enjoy Sundays at Eastlake because they have been displaced by tents clogging the lawn. Last year, once barricades lifted at 6pm the crowds poured in, set up DJs, stripper poles, bars, clogged the streets with cars, set off fireworks and sideshows went into the morning hours. Oakland does NOT have the resources to stringently manage vending so it should NOT create this program under the false guise of "equity". The lake needs to be used for the enjoyment of all residents, not the profit of vendors!!

This national wildlife sanctuary needs to be preserved. Has there been an environmental impact assessment? Eastlake is buckling under the strain of all the vending and the trash, traffic, noise and human waste is creates. This is NOT equity!

My name is Renee DYER,Oakland resident since 1976.I reside in a rent controlled apartment on Lakeshore Avenue. I oppose ALL vending around the eastern side of Lake Merritt. My opposition rests in the inalienable right to PEACE &QUIET ENJOYMENT of my home and place of worship. This is a sacred right and by law eclipses the vendors' right to sell unsanctioned food and dry goods.I contend that the OBVA vendors,et al have NOT proven to be good neighbors! This vending operation has not received adequate environmental review, nor has it earned the privilege to turn a National Wildlife Refuge into a flea market. The vendors create sanctuary for amplified nightclub style music events &sales of illegal/illicit products, encouraging visitor crowding& violent use of vehicles to display a dangerous "culture" of reckless driving.Lake residents have been blindsided by this clandestine market &are being inequitably treated in a warp speed push to put businesses literally on the banks of LakeMerritt. Vending CAN NOT work without sophisticated management.Consider how DC manages vending on the Mall or NY's management of vending in Central Park. These jurisdictions are serious about protecting these public parks, which are here for people to visit, not vendors to make a buck, especially at the expense of residents. My health &well being is adversely affected by this mistake in awarding one demographic carte blanche to do as they wish in the refuge, on the city streets and around private property.
