12 21-0507 Subject: Coliseum Non-Exclusive Negotiation
From: Economic Workforce And Development Department
Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution Authorizing The City Administrator To Negotiate, Non-Exclusively, With The 1) African American Sports And Entertainment Group; 2) Tripp Development; 3) The Renaissance Companies; 4) Dave Stewart And Lonnie Murray; And 5) Athletics Investment Group LLC, Regarding The Terms Of Disposition Of The City's Undivided 50% Fee Interest In The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Complex Consisting Of Various Parcels Bounded By San Leandro Street, 66th Avenue, Hegenberger Road And Interstate 880
I strongly support Staff’s recommendation to authorize the City Administrator to Negotiate Non-Exclusively with ALL proposals received. I believe the interest for all of Oakland’s residents can only be heard with a transparent, fair and open process. As a supporter of the proposal from Dave Stewart/Lonnie Murray, I am keenly aware of the efforts of some to thwart transparency and integrity with a motion presented at the July 1 Rules Committee to have only one proposal move forward on the July 20 Council agenda. On behalf of all interested in a fair and honest process with respect to Public Land, I am requesting that item be removed and today we adopt Agenda Item 12 21-0507.
I strongly recommend that the Council approve and adopt today’s Resolution. There are 5 Proposals submitted to the City for the disposition of the Coliseum Site, and the responsibility of the Council is to allow City Staff to EVALUATE AND NEGOTIATE with all Principals who have submitted a Proposals to assure that the residents of Oakland (and the City) can get the absolute best deal and Community Benefits. To ONLY consider 1 or 2 Proposals is completely irresponsible and with the Disposition of Public/Surplus Land, against Public Lands Act Legislation.
I encourage the Council to adopt the attached Resolution, and allow staff to return at a later date with a full evaluation of ALL PROPOSALS

This item is useless. The AASEG has the best plan for Oakland. No one else has the vision or community backing that support going forward. AASEG has actual people who are engaged with community. With exception of A's everyone else doesn't even work live or even play in Oakland on a consistent basis. These are more stall tactics in an attempt to stop true progress for East Oakland and it's residents. This resolution does zero to help Oakland. The moment is here an no other group is qualified to hang this large site
