My name is Regina Wallace and I am a Mutual Aid Organizer with Senior and Disability Action. There is a direct correlation between mental health and aging that no one is really talking about. We need to have more oversight about this process and transparency. There was an agreement to not having more police academies and to utilize MACRO with a community oversight committee. We need to have more transparency and accountability with the police officers and their performance records. There was a huge scandal with sex trafficking of a minor and that got swept under the rug involving many officers. Brown and Black people are still getting shot at disproportionate rates with no accountability with many officers back on the streets. That is creating a culture of fear and harm in our communities. this needs to stop! Officers need more psychological training and help as well as anti racist/oppression training.
