Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution Honoring Mr. Martin Waukazoo Upon His Retirement After 40 Years Of Dedicated Work And Service In The Community For The City Of Oakland
The situation for Palestinians in Gaza right now is absolutely dire. The Israeli government has cut off all food, water, fuel, and power, and has indiscriminately dropped bombs without reprieve for six days. They are now calling on 1.1 million Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate the north of the strip to prepare for a likely ground invasion — a move that the UN says is impossible and would have “devastating humanitarian consequences”.
Oakland must immediately work for a ceasefire in order to prevent further catastrophic loss of life. I am grateful that my representative is one of the few bold anti-war voices in Congress.
