    Thank you for introducing this Ordinance, of which I am in full support. With this legislation, individuals like myself who are practicing consensual non-monogamy can rest assured that the City of Oakland affirms our rights to equal access to housing and services and freedom from discriminatory practices by landlords and business owners.

    I am in full support of Ordinance S5.27 24-0120, introduced by Councilmember Ramachandran. This progressive ordinance aims to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their family and relationship structure, are treated with dignity and equality. Nontraditional families and relationships deserve the same respect and rights as anyone else. It's time to embrace diversity in all its forms and make discrimination based on family and relationship structures a thing of the past. I believe that most in the city of Oakland believe in body autonomy, and in supporting loving healthy consensual relationships and families. By prohibiting discrimination in real estate transactions and the provision of goods, facilities, and services, we are taking a significant step towards a more inclusive community.
