The city council has vividly demonstrated its liberal fascism nature. They chose to ignore the heinous crimes committed by Hamas, accompanied by the "peaceful dwellers of Gaza" - cutting heads and raping the Israeli babies and toddlers. the despicable liberal trash has revealed its true face at the City's meeting. These animals, who not only side with the Palestinian terrorists, but also cheer and gloat at the death of the Jewish population, are, in fact, worse than Hitler's Nazis and Japanese brutes of the WWII. The true face of this liberal fascism blooming in Oakland is duly noted.

Will your ceasefire include a clause that Gaza should stop firing rockets into Israel? Gaza has broken every ceasefire it has brokered with Israel. Why should Israel believe they will keep their word this time. Hamas is a terrorist organization and needs to be destroyed so the people of Gaza can live peacefully with self-determination and a functioning government. I do not support a ceasefire at this time and think Oakland should stay out of the affairs of communities thousands of miles away. Our tax dollars are going to support important safety and security for the United State's largest ally in the Mideast. I don't want Islamic extremist ideologies (or any extremist ideologies for that mater) infiltrating our country again like it did during 9-11. Let's keep the funding in Israel and stop extremism where it starts.

My name is Mercy and I was born and raised in Oakland. I’ve lived in district 3 then district 2 for 30+ years and I call on the City Council to pass the ceasefire resolution without amendments. We must all do everything we can to stop the violence horrors that our tax dollars are supporting. The world is watching.

My name is Rachita and I’m an Oakland District 1 resident. I call on the City Council to pass the ceasefire resolution without amendments. Over 20,000 people have died in Gaza, because of Israel’s attacks.

I, just like many of us, am watching these horrors happen on social media, watching a father holding his dead toddler close, watching children starve and search desperately for food and water, watching people dig up the bodies of their family in the rubble of their home. This is the most documented genocide ever, and yet our government continues to fund Israel and this murder, misusing our hard earned tax dollars. Enough is enough.

I strongly support passing this resolution without amendments. This is the least Oakland can do to take a stand against Israel’s occupation and genocide and lead the way for other cities to do the same. Thank you for your time.

My name is Adele Watts and I am a D6 resident, a black mother and Community Organizer. I strongly urge you to pass the resolution without amendments. There is a longstanding history of black solidarity with the people of Palestine, from Oakland to Palestine- we are not free until everyone is free.

The time to stop the continued loss of innocent life is now. Never again is now. Spend my tax dollars on improving MY city, cleanup our environment, fund mental health care services, build safe and deeply affordable housing, pay the teachers and provide a better curriculum for our babies. The only choice to end the mass killing of children and families in Gaza is a ceasefire now. I stand in solidarity with Palestinian-led organizations, who are reminding us that the survival of land and people anywhere requires that we oppose settler-colonialism, apartheid, militarism, land theft, and environmental destruction everywhere. Oakland we must continue our legacy of resistance and stand on the right side of history. Free Palestine, period!

As a resident of San Lorenzo Ca, I demand a permanent ceasefire without amendments. If you allow yourself to sincerely open your eyes and see the truth, you will see that Israel is continuing its ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Palestinian people with your approval and our tax dollars. The occupation as a whole is unjust and the Palestinians deserve to live in peace. A ceasefire to save lives should not even be debatable.

What does this have to do with Oakland and its problems. You are local officials, focus on local governance. Plenty of issues in Oakland like rising violence, theft, property crimes, sexual assaults, etc.

    Waste of tax dollars.

I am a resident of District 2, and I support the adoption of this resolution without amendments. As an ordained United Methodist minister, my Christian faith calls me to stand with those who are resisting injustice and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves, for justice is the public expression of divine love. I have been to Palestine twice with incredible, gracious Palestinian hosts and guides and have seen Israeli apartheid, illegal settlement building, home demolitions, and ethnic cleansing firsthand. And what we are all seeing in front of our eyes right now—Israel's siege upon Gaza and its indiscriminate killing of civilians—can only be called a genocide. As a queer person of color, as an Asian American whose ancestors survived colonization, I recognize the colonial oppression Palestinians live under, and I join them in solidarity and resistance. Ceasefire now. End US aid to Israel. End the occupation. Free Palestine.

There have been 14,854 Palestinians have been killed of which 6,150 are kids and 4,000 women. Over 36,000 Palestinians have been injured. 7000 are missing. Too many lives have been lost. Over half of Gaza's population has been displaced again, many of them living in tents now during the winter months. They have been robbed of their homes, and starved. I urge you to call of an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

As the leader of a Bay Area organization, JIMENA (Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa), I am absolutely horrified to hear community members voicing their support for Hamas. Less than two months ago, Hamas carried out gruesome acts, including beheading and burning Jewish babies alive, raping and butchering women and girls, executing elderly Jews, and taking children hostage after killing their parents in front of them. This was not an act of resistance for the pursuit of freedom; this was abhorrent violence, and it shows what "the river to the sea" means in real-time. They not only murdered Jews but also innocent Israeli Arab women and children, and they continue to hold innocent Palestinians in Gaza hostage. Any resolution MUST unequivocally condemn Hamas.

If this city genuinely supports peace and the rights of indigenous people, it will recognize the diverse communities indigenous to Israel, including Jews, Druze, Bedouin, Arab Christians, Samaritans, and many others. For genuine peace to be realized, it is incumbent on you as leaders to call out indiscriminate violence here and in Israel and recognize the basic human rights of Israeli and Palestinian citizens to live their lives free from the death grip of Hamas.

I am a third generation Oaklander and a resident of District 1. Please pass the resolution without amendments. We must make a stand as Oaklanders that aligns with our strong legacy of justice and against oppression and violence. We need a ceasefire now, and cannot send a single more dime nor spend a single more day supporting the genocide being carried out against the Palestinian people. Thank you for standing on the right side of history and passing this resolution.

As a Maya Mam native and 28-year Fruitvale District 5 Native. I am in support of the resolution as is with no amendments. I am here to say Oakland needs to say cease-fire! As a survivor of genocide, my indigenous community had their story of loss and forced migration censored and now history is repeating with our tax dollars in Palestine. I am here to say let Oakland be on the right side of history. Not just end the cease-fire now but condemn any U.S. support of genocide all over the world. Let Oakland be proud to say we will believe in the liberation of all people and condemn genocide then, now, and in the future.
